Lisa Darmanin, Branch Secretary
Lisa is a proud and passionate unionist, beginning her association with the ASU as a member and active workplace delegate, from Berry Street Victoria in 1997.
Lisa became Branch Secretary of the Australian Services Union, Victorian and Tasmanian Authorities and Services Branch in June 2018. Prior to this, she was the first female Branch Executive President elected in 2014.
She was first elected as ASU Assistant Branch Secretary in 2007, with responsibility for Organising and Campaigning and co-ordination of the Social and Community Services Division. Lisa had worked as an ASU organiser since 2000.

Lisa was inducted into the Victorian Honour Roll for Women in 2016 in recognition for significant contribution to the Victorian Community, specifically in achieving gender equity for women. She was the inaugural winner of the Zelda D’Aprano Activist Award by Victorian Trades Hall Council in 2015 as most outstanding female activist for her work in the Community Services Equal Pay case and leadership in delivering world first family violence workplace entitlements.
Lisa has spent time on secondment at various roles including in the Victorian Department of Premier and Cabinet, working on Victorian Government initiatives in gender equality and family violence prevention, and Victorian Trades Hall Council, where she coordinated the Your Rights at Work campaign in Victoria in 2006.
Lisa was appointed to the Vision Super Board in March 2018 as a member representative having been nominated by the union. Prior to this role, Lisa has previously been a trustee director of HESTA from 2013 to 2017.
She has a Bachelor of Business, a Diploma of Community Development.
Tash Wark, Deputy Branch Secretary
Tash joined the ASU branch in 2006, after being fired up to fight back against WorkChoices as an ASU delegate in the community sector.
In her time in the union office she’s worked in many roles – starting in the Member Contact Centre, as an organiser working on the successful Equal Pay campaign and education project roles, an industrial organiser covering metro and regional members across SACS and infrastructure, leading statewide negotiations.
Tash has undertaken lead organiser roles focusing on campaigning across all ASU coverage, in the SACS and infrastructure team and local government industry team.

She feels privileged to have worked with members, delegates and organisers across all our industries to build workers’ power and brings years of experience to her role.
Tash’s current responsibility areas include coordination of the local government industry division and the local government industry team.
Leon Wiegard, Assistant Branch Secretary
Leon first joined the ASU in 2006 following six years working with the Community & Public Sector Union.
He was initially employed as an Organiser and has organised across all of the ASU Divisions and was part of the SACS organising team throughout most of the equal pay campaign.
Leon has worked alongside, delegates, members and organisers on the SACS portable long service leave campaign and the “our community needs job security” campaign. He has also worked with delegates, members and organisers in infrastructure agencies to achieve pay outcomes much higher than the national average.

Leon oversees the Campaigning and Organising team for the community sector, state government authorities and energy.
His main focus of the work that Leon does with the Campaigning and Organising Team is on growing the power of the ASU across all of our industry Divisions. Union power comes through active delegates and high union density in workplaces like yours.
Ty Lockwood, Assistant Branch Secretary
Ty began his work in Local Government at Shire of Campaspe back in 2001. Starting as a labourer before making the move to Melbourne, working for contractors to Local Government. In 2005 Ty joined Knox City Council in Parks maintenance.
Always passionate about workers' rights and advocacy, in 2008 he became an ASU Delegate, jumping straight into member issues and EA negotiations.
In 2011 Ty came to the ASU in the delegate development program, starting in the Member Contact Centre and then as an organiser. He worked his way from an Organiser to Lead Organiser and is now Assistant Secretary for our Local Government Campaign Team.

Ty has worked extensively across Victoria and covered areas from Towong Shire to City of Melbourne.
Ty loves working closely and directly with members and is looking forward to sharing his knowledge and experience to ensure members' collective strength and power grows.
