If you haven’t heard, there’s some proposed changes in YSAS Residential Withdrawal and Rehabilitation Units. These changes would shake up the rosters, reduce staffing overnight and remove shifts from lower paid workers.

Around 50 of these workers recently signed a petition, calling on the CEO to pause the current change process and work with them to identify and address problems in the units. After receiving this petition, the CEO has contacted the ASU Branch to arrange a meeting to discuss how to move forward.

At this stage, the change process has been paused until that meeting occurs, which will likely be early next week.

We’ll be reaching out to ASU Resi delegates shortly to discuss this and seek direction.

Stay tuned for further details.

As always, the ASU is by your side when things are difficult at work. Your colleagues who aren’t in the union might never have been asked to join, so why not forward them this email and reach out to them today? They can join by clicking here.
