At the final ERLF meeting for 2021, your ASU Delegates and Organiser were notified of the outcomes of their hard work representing you on brokerage and Flexi-Time Processes.
Brokerage:
Over the last few months, delegates have discussed with management the slashing of FFP brokerage, with many workers effectively having no money to assist clients. As a result, YSAS Leadership investigated and found that (possibly unintentionally) a zero had been dropped from a spreadsheet somewhere, changing $10,000 to $1,000!
Management assures us that this all-important zero is back in the budget and FFP has been restored. This happened because delegates provided real-life examples of how the drop in brokerage negatively impacts clients and workers.
Flexi-Time:
Recently the ASU was shown a proposed new process for flexi-time at YSAS, which included a significant departure from current practices. Your delegates and organiser put these issues to management, who agreed to wind back many changes and have since put forward a process that retains current practices. Again, this happened because your delegates represented your interests directly to management.
On a general note:
Throughout 2021 YSAS members, tirelessly represented by delegates, have achieved great outcomes for yourselves, clients and your communities. This happened because ASU members stuck together and let your voices be heard. Please join us in thanking your delegates for all that they do for you. You might even like to send them a thank-you message directly.
