Since taking the path to initiate Enterprise Agreement bargaining twelve months before the expiry of the enterprise agreement, Devonport City Council have shown no interest in entering into genuine negotiations surrounding wages and conditions. This became even more evident last week when Council management cancelled all further meetings claiming an impasse and advised that they intend to put the Enterprise Agreement out for vote.
ASU members have endorsed and are preparing to deliver a strong No Vote campaign. You can see more on the issues at play here: VOTE NO 1; VOTE NO 2; VOTE NO 3; VOTE NO 4.
It’s time to show Devonport City Council that workers won’t be bullied into accepting an inferior Enterprise Agreement.
