The ASU has received notification of major change to the Home & Community Care Program for Younger People (HCCPYP) and Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP)
It is proposed that Council undertake an Expression of Interest and recommend a new provider to the Federal Government for several of Council’s CHSP in-home care services (Domestic Assistance, Personal Care, Respite Care, Social Support Individual, Home Modifications and Property Maintenance).
According to the notice, it is anticipated that the majority, if not all, of Council’s in-home support workforce, will transfer to a new CHSP provider rendering Council unable to deliver in-home HACCPYP services through an internal workforce.
