The ASU has been notified of proposed restructure of Yarra Ranges Shire Council assets and capital programming department.

The proposal articulates the department changes cascading from the corporate changes of last year, including the transition of temporary and interim staffing arrangements to a two-year structure in alignment with the corporate changes.

  • Continuance of separate team structures for assets, capital and fleet to meet key priorities over the next 2 years.
  • Reestablishment the EO Strategic Asset Management position.
  • Separation of Asset Planning and Asset data and systems to enable clear focus on ESP and LG Act Asset Plan priorities
  • Changes in some reporting arrangements

Some banding changes of vacant temporary roles and the creation of new positions to facilitate ESP delivery and backfill arrangements.

Per the Yarra Ranges Shire Council Enterprise Agreement 2019, employees impacted by the proposed change are entitled to consultation, and to have their views represented by their Union.

Council is required to give prompt consideration to matters raised by the employees in relation to the changes.
