The ASU and your employer have come as far as they can in negotiating your agreement.

Your bargaining representatives, Bridget, Carly and Liz have worked hard to keep the process on track for improvements to your conditions. There are some excellent outcomes including Disability leave and Superannuation at .5% that proposed increases.

We would like to provide you with an overview of the agreement and what it means for your rights at work. Particularly in light of the more recent change that management has made to the Dispute Resolution clause by excluding the Disciplinary procedure from the disputes settling procedures of the agreement. Your bargaining representatives need your direction on whether this agreement should be supported by ASU members and our next steps.

Your Agreement has several new clauses and conditions that are positive for staff. Some of these are;

  • Strong Family Violence Clause which includes leave of 20 days per annum
  • Disability Clause
  • Reasonable Adjustment Clause
  • Improved Definition of Family
  • Christmas Closedown

As with most negotiations, there are some ASU claims that were not achieved and there are a couple of employer terms that are less favourable than your former agreement. You can view a summary of the outcomes here.

The ASU will be holding a meeting to discuss this further. All staff are welcome to attend, please share and encourage your colleagues to attend.

DATE: Tuesday 15 February
TIME: 1.30pm – 2.30pm

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.
