We are currently in the Enterprise Agreement (EA) access period. This is your chance to look at the EA your union delegates and officials have worked on.

Unfortunately, the EA being put to vote is not agreed on – it does not meet the standards that you unanimously voted for at member meetings. That is why you must send a message to Council and Vote No!

Our position has been that this rollover EA remains the same content and the pay increase is the same as last year – 2% or $25.00 whichever is the greater

  • No movement on the pay offer – despite a conservative counter-offer being put by ASU members of 2% or $25 Council have rejected it and stuck to their offer of 1.5% or $22.
  • No agreement on extending the spread of hours – span of hours at the new clause 15.4/15.6 wasn’t discussed in meetings we had about the rollover. The explanation from council doesn’t say which employees are affected and how they’ll be worse off

We’ve written to Council to cease the access period ask for a withdrawal of this claim and recommence the access period and for another EA meeting if Council want to continue to pursue this.

It’s really important you take the time to vote and clearly select the NO box.

It’s also critical to talk to other staff in your area about why they must vote No. Every staff member gets a vote, not just ASU members. We can’t begin to turn this around without at least 50% of votes against the offer.

Together we are stronger. Ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
