We would like to thank everyone who either attended one of our update meetings last week or filled in our member survey. We have a clear indication from our membership regarding the priority items from our log of claims.
We met with council on Monday 28 February and presented these – you can find a full list here.
Please note that this list only pertains to the Part A discussion, excluding the local area workplace agreements (specific claims pertaining to specific groups)
We have advised Council that as the offer currently stands, ASU members are not in support.
We expressed our dissatisfaction with Council’s approach of removing backpay if agreement is not reached by 29 April. Council agreed to push this date to the end of May. However, we have indicated that the proposed ‘deadline’ shouldn’t be linked to backpay regardless. This was a sentiment that was shared by all representatives.
We advised council to reconsider their position, taking the attached priority areas into consideration.
Our next meeting is on Tuesday 15 March and we expect an improved offer to put forward to our members.
