The proposed roll-over Enterprise Agreement (EA) agreement was approved last month with a majority of employees voting in favour of the proposal with a 2/3rd YES and 1/3rd NO result.
The documentation has been lodged in the Fair Work Commission and will likely take some time to approve. Recent Enterprise Agreements are taking approximately six months to be approved by Fair Work.
Given the length of time between lodgement and approval, the ASU has written to the CEO of the City of Whitehorse and requested that the EA be applied (including passing on the wage increase on the 1st of September, 2019) as if it were approved by the FWC. This is to make sure employees are not disadvantaged by this administrative delay.
