The ASU has been contacted by Wellways to advise that they have recently identified two payroll errors.

The first error is related to an incorrect classification of support workers in some of the Supported Independent Living programs (primarily Queensland based staff).

The second error is in relation to their interpretation of the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award 2010 regarding payment for rostered hours before and after sleepovers.

The ASU have also been advised that Wellways have contracted the Australian Payroll Association to assist them and will be putting in place regular external audits to identify issues with their award interpreter software program. The Fair Work Ombudsman is also aware of this process.

Wellways have advised the ASU that impacted staff have already been briefed. The ASU are seeking further information and will advise members accordingly.
