Back in late March, the Australian Services Union wrote to all public sector water authorities, asking about measures they were putting in place around COVID-19.
We also wanted to ensure they were compliant with the state government’s advice to public sector employers.
Most wrote back to confirm their compliance, but some still have not responded.
To make the rights of ASU members are protected, and your workplaces are safe, we are continuing to chase up water authorities who have not responded to our initial letter.
Importantly, we are still by members side when they have issues at work., representing members in payroll disputes, disciplinary and performance issues at work.
Melbourne Water Bargaining Nearly Complete
The ASU and Melbourne Water are very close to reaching agreement on the final wording for the new Melbourne Water Enterprise Agreement, with all the major issues now resolved.
This is the first Water Industry enterprise agreement that has not been rolled over. As such, we have been able to secure some significant improvements to conditions around ‘On Call’ and ‘Remote Response’.
A final draft will be circulated to Melbourne Water members soon for their approval.
