The ASU held two member meetings this week to provide an overview of the in-principle agreement reached with Council and to provide all members with an opportunity to raise any questions or concerns.

At these meetings we also asked members to vote on if they were happy to endorse the in-principle agreement reached below:

You will note that the only changes in this proposed variation are:

  • Increasing salaries by 1.25% or $25 per week, whichever is greater (from 1 Sep 2020)
  • Increasing allowances as specified in the EA
  • Increasing the term of the Agreement by 12 months to expire on 30 June 2021
  • Changing the date of the annual update to superannuation funds to align with salary increases

All other terms and conditions of employment remain the same.

The ASU can confirm that majority of the members in attendance voted yes to endorse the in-principle agreement offer.

Council has now commenced the Access Period as staff must have the agreement made available to them for a minimum of 7 days; the access period opened on Wednesday 1 July and will close on Thursday 9 July 2020.

Staff will then have the opportunity to vote to determine if the 12-month variation to your Agreement goes ahead or not. The voting process will be conducted by Corp Vote using various electronic methods (i.e. internet and phone) which will be made available to staff. The voting process will open on Friday 10 July and close at midnight Sunday 19 July 2020.
