Between 1 – 7 February, GRLC staff will vote on whether to accept the Executive Leadership Team’s proposed enterprise agreement (EA). In the lead up to this, the access period for the EA will start next week – on Monday 18 January.

Union members have already overwhelmingly rejected the deal, but despite this the ELT is putting it to an all-staff vote in a bid to get it accepted anyway.

The ELT’s proposed EA is a disaster. If voted up, it will:

– Cut penalty rates for GLHC Level 4 staff

– Cut the advance notice of Christmas opening hours staff currently receive

– Require large numbers of library staff to work more late shifts and more weekends

– Lock staff into four years of ultra-low wage growth, when GRLC is already one of the lowest paying library services in Victoria (remember this?

GRLC is the best public library service in Victoria, and has the second-highest paid public library CEO in the state. Why should GRLC staff accept such an unfair situation, lose workplace conditions, and fall even further behind staff at other public libraries?

You deserve better. VOTE NO and let’s campaign together for a better deal.
