The access period to review management’s latest enterprise agreement offer started on Monday 12 July. This is your chance to review the offer your ASU delegates and officials have been working on for months to improve.

Unfortunately, this “final offer” being put to vote is not agreed to by the ASU as it does not meet the standards ASU members unanimously voted for at member meetings last week.

We need to send a message to Council and vote NO to this offer!

We achieved some improvements, but the pay increase is still not good enough:

  • “No” to improving their pay offer – despite a reasonable counteroffer by ASU members of 2% or $30 Council said “No” and stuck to their offer of 1.5% or $22.
  • “No” to our wording around mental health – following advice from members ASU bargaining reps proposed the introduction of a mental health clause. Council agreed ‘in part’ but insisted it must include wording around budgetary constraints. We strongly disagree.

It is important that when the time comes to vote, ALL ASU members take the time to vote NO.

It is also critical to talk to other staff in your area today and ask them to vote NO to this substandard offer.

Every staff member gets a vote, not just members of the ASU. We need to get management back to the bargaining table so we can get a better offer, so we need at least 50% of voters to vote no.
