Ballarat City Council is putting an agreement to members for a vote. If 50% of the votes endorse this agreement, then your terms and conditions will be locked in for 4 years.

 

ASU representatives urge all employees to vote NO in the ballot.

 

ASU and other unions involved in negotiations believe this is a sub-standard offer. 

The agreement doesn’t offer universal improvements in line with other local government outcomes.

Ballarat is in a good financial position to increase their pay offer, the surplus declared in the annual report exceeded budget by over 17%

Rate capping is placing downward pressure on wage offers, but good councils are offering the rate cap in entirety, not a miserly 80% of the rate cap like Ballarat.

ASU is committed to fixing inequities in the agreement and rejecting this offer will enable further negotiations on issues affecting employees like the terrible classification review policy, top of band recognition, discipline and misconduct processes, thermal comfort, consultation and other unresolved issues in Leisure, Waste, Early Childhood, Phoenix and conditions affecting our horticultural colleagues.

Don’t lock in sub-standard terms and conditions for 4 years. 

 

Vote NO in the up-coming ballot.
