The City of Whitehorse is putting a proposed enterprise agreement out to a ballot of employees. The ballot will be open from Wednesday 12 June to Friday 14 June.
The ASU urges you to VOTE NO in this ballot.
Before casting a vote in this ballot it is important to understand the financial forecasts that have been made by the City of Whitehorse.
The City of Whitehorse’s Council Plan 2017-2011, has forecast that ‘employee costs’ (which includes wage increases) will increase by 3.3% each year for the four-year period between 2017 to 2021. The Council plan can be viewed here (see page 46).
Management wants you to agree to an unknown wage increase in both the 2nd and the 3rd years of the proposed EA, yet the City of Whitehorse are able to specify total employee costs between 2017 and 2021? This is not reasonable and it is not fair.
And just last week the Fair Work Commission adjusted minimum rates of pay by 3%.
In simple terms, the numbers just don’t stack up!
The ASU encourages you to VOTE NO in the ballot that will run Wednesday 12 June to Friday 14 June.
