At Vision Super, we make the health and well-being of our members, employers and the team our main priority, particularly during the global Coronavirus pandemic. We continue to be led by the recommendations of key government authorities and relevant health professionals. We are taking a number of precautions to support our people, to maintain service to you and to be prepared should the situation change significantly. We have temporarily closed our office and put a hold on seminars in response to the government’s social distancing recommendations. While the situation is changing daily, one thing remains the same: we are committed to providing support to our members and employers when you need it.

Vision Super will also continue to provide telephone support, respond to any queries sent to the general email address, and will be checking in with our socials to make sure we’ve answered any direct messages. Members are still able to log in online to check how their super is tracking, and we are also looking at modern technologies, video conference and live streaming to ensure we continue to support members and employers from an education and servicing perspective.

Early release of super
While superannuation helps people save for retirement, the Government has recognised that for those significantly financially affected by the Coronavirus, accessing some of their superannuation today may outweigh the benefits of maintaining those savings until retirement. This is why the government is allowing individuals affected by the Coronavirus to access up to $10,000 of their superannuation in 2019-20 and a further $10,000 in 2020-21. All requests to apply for this payment must be made via the ATO and more information can be found here:

The role of insurance
As the coronavirus continues to raise medical concerns, insurance can be an important protection for you and your loved ones. Members with death, total and permanent disability, or income protection cover through Vision Super should be comforted to know we do not have any exclusions that are relevant to coronavirus.
