Important upcoming dates for the Enterprise Agreement vote are listed below.

Access period
The access period is a legal requirement that requires the employer to make the agreement available for employees to review before voting. They must also provide employees information on how the vote will be conducted. This period must remain open for 7 clear days.

The Access period will run from 17 March to 24 March

Voting Information
The vote will be conducted electronically. Employees will be able to vote via email/telephone/text. You will be asked if you are in support of the proposed enterprise agreement – to which you respond Yes/No.

Ventia will be requesting employees update their details, to ensure everyone receives a ballot.

The voting period will run from 6am on Friday 25 March and close 5pm on Wednesday 30 March

Whichever way you choose to vote we encourage members to vote.

Summary of the changes can be found here.

It has been a long road with needing to engage the Commission on two separate occasions. Firstly to get Ventia to sit down and negotiate and then to fight off the changes they sought due to Building Code.

We have been able to achieve and fight off some considerable changes as well as improve the wages offer. This is only because of the delegates and members who stood up and supported taking this action.

The agreement doesn’t meet the ASU minimum standards and as such won’t be supporting the document but we recognise how far we have come and that this is the best Ventia are prepared to offer.

A big shout out to ASU delegates Andrea, Ben and Shane for all their hard work and dedication throughout this process – they have attended every meeting, every commission hearing and been a strong advocate for members to management.

We will hold a meeting next week to go through all this information so stay tuned
