The ASU has finally received Ventia’s response to our requested redeployment/redundancy inclusions.
Ventia have NOT agreed to include a number of items within the EA. Their position is that many of these elements are covered off in policy. We know that policy can be changed without consultation with you or your union.
We informed Ventia that members are NOT supportive of a 2% increase and provided evidence of other EA’s within the industry which have delivered higher pay offers for 2021 (Citywide 2.4% and UMS 2.5%).
Unfortunately, Ventia did not shift on their wages offer of 2% for 2021 and 2% for 2022.
Back pay is offered as a sign-on bonus worked out as 2% from 1 April to 1 October, with Overtime being calculated based on the average hours of the 5 highest individuals who worked Overtime, plus allowances.
View further information here.
Ventia have advised that this is their final offer with the view of putting the EA out for a vote. If they are unsuccessful then we will enter full negotiations as opposed to a rollover agreement.
They have also included a range of Building Code Compliance references which limits consultation with your union officials and the consultative committee. They deem that this is required for tendering of building works.
We have requested a paid meeting for next Tuesday so stay tuned for that, and you will be receiving a call from a representative of the ASU to talk to you about Industrial Actions.
Protected industrial action is only protected for union members, now is critical to get on board! Talk to a colleague about joining the ASU today via https://www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
