MacKillop Family Services has made a successful application to the Fair Work Commission (FWC) to vary the Enterprise Agreement. This was initiated to include employees previously covered under the Cara Enterprise Agreement who had been excluded from the Mackillop Family Services EA.
The Commission noted that there was a very low voter turnout, only 63 staff out of 525 employees, but was advised by MFS that this was due to very few employees being directly affected. Subsequently, FWC noted some areas to be addressed in the current MFS EA, and undertakings binding on the organisation have been made.
The undertaking added to the agreement include;
21.5 Safe Work while an Employee is Pregnant
11.2 (b) Overtime
9.2 (a) Hours of work
40.3 Internal /Compulsory Training
