Organisers from the Tasmanian ASU team this month participated in professional development around formal advocacy with our internal legal team to assist them with the facilitation of matters in the Fair Work Commission and other similar jurisdictions.

During the course, the lawyers put the Organisers through their paces, running through real-life cases and presiding over mock hearings, with the Legal and Compliance Manager acting in the role of a Fair Work Commissioner for these simulations.

The team performed well in these example cases and have gained additional skills and abilities in this specialised area, ready to assist members with a number of upcoming Fair Work Commission conciliation and arbitration cases.

This professional development should see our Organising team in Tasmania perform well under the pressure of these procedural matters.
