The ASU have completed a series of membership meetings within BSL worksites. The meetings were scheduled after a series of concerns were raised by your Delegates. Some issues specifically affect only LAC members but others affect all BSL members, such as workload.
It was frustrating and disappointing that for some months ASU Organiser Jo McEvoy and Delegates have made multiple requests to meet with BSL management to discuss the issues, to no avail. Yet it was deemed appropriate by Rodney Weston, Director of NDIS Services, to issue an email last week refuting our claims, without having actually first listened to all of your concerns.
The ASU has once again made a formal request to meet to discuss the outcomes of the member meetings. It is hoped that given BSL’s claim they aspire to have happy motivated staff they will finally accept this request. In the event of an unsatisfactory response the ASU office will take this matter back to delegates to seek instructions on whether the matter should be raised as dispute.
With regards to the back pay issue spoken about in the meetings. Members are advised that should you wish to be included in the audit request you first request details of the back pay calculations from payroll and then email the information provided plus an authority for the audit request to be made to your Organiser firstname.lastname@example.org
