The ASU is a union focused on delivering real benefits to members. We are a democratic member-owned and member-run organisation and members are at the heart of everything we do.

From enterprise bargaining to fighting for members in courts and tribunal and representing members in disputes with their employer, we make a real difference to members’ lives.

Over the last year we have been more active than ever negotiating on behalf of members, defending members’ rights and holding thousands of workplace meetings across Victoria and Tasmania. We have also expanded the additional benefits that come with ASU membership to include free online career and skills training.

To continue the ASU’s work for members, the Branch Executive has approved a small fee increase of between 4 cents and 23 cents per week depending on your income and the number of hours you work each week. This increase will take effect from 1 October.

If you currently pay your ASU membership by payroll deduction, you could reduce the cost of membership by changing your method of payment to direct debit. The union applies a 3% discount to membership fees paid through direct debit and you can find out about making the change to direct debit by contacting the ASU office on 1300 855 570.

If you are interested in more information about the benefits that come with ASU membership visit our website at

Our focus on delivering for members at work is absolute, and we will keep working for all members of our union.

Yours sincerely

Lisa Darmanin
Branch Secretary
