December is right around the corner which means spending time with loved ones and soaking up the summer sun. For a lot of us, it means end of year events celebrating with plenty of booze and finishing later than usual.
But did you know that 1 in 6 incidents of workplace sexual harassment happens at a work social event?
This is why we’re hosting the webinar ‘Unionists are Active Bystanders: Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace’ on Tuesday 21 November at 12:30pm and 5:30pm.
41% of people have witnessed or heard about a colleague being sexually harassed at work but only a third of those people took action to prevent or reduce harm.
Bystander action is vital to preventing and stopping sexual harassment and as unionists, we know better than anyone that we are stronger together.
Here’s a sneak peek of what’s on the agenda:
- What is an active bystander?
- Why is being an active bystander important?
- When and how to take bystander action
We’ve got two sessions lined up to fit into your day:
This webinar is a great opportunity for us to learn new skills or refresh prior knowledge – all contributing to a respectful and safe working environment. Together we can prevent sexual harassment in our workplaces.
Share this email with your colleagues. This is important information we should all have.
See you then!
In Union,
