ASU members across Victoria are fighting for better services, secure jobs and fair pay increases.
The Victorian Government’s rate cap has starved councils of funding, which has had a detrimental impact on our communities and our lives at work.
ASU members are fighting back, and we will be putting pressure on the Victorian Government to reconsider their rate capping policy in the lead up to the next State election.
To do this effectively, we need to highlight the damage that underfunding local government services has on our community.
We are asking our members in local government to provide us with examples of services to the community that have been changed, merged, cut, or reduced due to cost-cutting, lack of revenue or lack of resources.
Are you aware of any examples of this happening at your council? Please click here to provide your story.
ASU members know that we are stronger and better off when we all work together. If you are aware of any colleague who is not a union member, let them know there has never been a more important time to join the ASU and encourage them to become a member today
