The future of ASU members in the kerbside waste collection unit will be decided by Council next Tuesday.

ASU invites Community members and Council employees to meet outside the venue in advance of the Council meeting.

Your Councillors will decide on whether to sub contract waste collection, ‘in-camera’ [in chambers].

The ASU is naturally opposed to the privatisation of council run services, and to do it secretly behind closed doors is astonishing.

DATE: Tuesday 27 August
TIME: 6.30pm
VENUE: Eltham Community and Reception Centre, 801 Main Road, Eltham.

Why put good services that serve the community well and have high customer service satisfaction ratings at risk? Dedicated council waste collection workers rely on secure jobs to pay their bills each week. Outsourcing always leads to services cuts, price hikes and job losses.

Waste collection is an essential service and council owes it to the community and their families to deliver it
