Many thanks to all members who have assisted the ASU with our Aged care submissions to the Royal Commission by completing the survey last month.

The ASU was invited to an interview with the Aged care Royal Commission Friday 17 July.

The Commission was interested in the impact of COVID-19 on home care workers and how we can better ensure home care workers are given the hours of work they need and enjoy workplace rights.

To finalise our home care submissions by the end of next week and better respond on COVID issues we have a few short questions!

Please help us by completing this important 1-minute survey here

We will discuss the submission and other important items at a member’s meeting on:

DATE: Wednesday 12 August
TIME: 4pm – 5.30pm

Delegates Meeting
Delegates met yesterday evening and heard a report back on ASU lobbying for the retention bonus and discussed mask availability and use.

The ASU wants to know how many home carer’s work across multiple employers or facilities in the aged care industry and how many home carer’s have left the workplace as a result of COVID-19. Delegates are completing a short questionnaire on these issues.

Your membership is your strength, know someone who is not a member? Don’t forget the ASU recruitment competition is underway until September, $500 is up for grabs for the member who recruits the most new members.
