The Fair Work Commission recently announced the outcome of the annual wage review.
From 1 July this year, there’ll be a 1.75% increase to minimum award rates for workers covered by the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
So if you are paid on the minimum award rates, your salary will increase by 1.75% on 1 July this year.
But we know social and community services workers deserve more.
This increase is simply not enough to compensate for the essential work that community sector workers like you do and to cover the ever-increasing cost of living.
The Morrison and Gutwein governments need to make sure the 1 July wage increase is fully funded.
Our union has written to federal and state governments asking that they guarantee funding to agencies to ensure both the ERO and the Award increases are fully funded.
Simply, you shouldn’t have to worry about your employer being able to afford to pay you a wage increase that the Morrison Government’s commission has ordered.
