You will have received a memo from the CEO advising that voting will commence on the Enterprise Agreement on Thursday 16 September.
This memo is misleading. Unfortunately, this final Enterprise Agreement offer being put to vote is not agreed on and it was not negotiated. Council have decided to put this agreement out to the vote, despite having no agreement with the ASU or ANMF.
That is why it is vital that you send a message to Council and Vote NO!
You are being offered a 1% pay increase. If this gets voted up it will be the lowest pay increase in a Council in Victoria this year.
Most of you will receive pay increases of between $11 & $14 per week – at a lot of Council’s we are getting minimum pay increases between $25 & $30 per week.
Once you get your ballot information, it is really important you take the time to vote and Vote NO.
It is also critical to talk to other staff in your area about why it is important that they vote NO. Every staff member gets a vote, not just members of the ASU. We can’t begin to try to turn this around without at least 50% of votes against the offer.
VOTE NO AND GET MANAGEMENT BACK TO THE TABLE FOR A BETTER DEAL.
Together we are stronger. Ask a co-worker to join the ASU at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
