The ASU is meeting with members at Surf Coast to hear your view on the Management offer received last week.

You can download a copy of the Management Offer and Claims and also their Response to all Claims via the embedded links.

ASU Organiser, Clay O’Brien, has held meetings at the Winchelsea Depot and the Torquay Depot to discuss Management’s bargaining position and hear the views of ASU members.

We have also set up an online meeting for you to share your views:

Date:     Tuesday, 26 July 2022
Time:    12:30pm – 1:30pm
Please register in advance for this meeting here:  https://us06web.zoom.us/meeting/register/tZMud–orTwuHdbS-MKMqsbQ40PzNgMnJ8_y

After registering, you will receive a confirmation email containing information about joining the meeting.

To summarise the Surf Coast position: They have rejected the overwhelming majority of the claims made by the union and other bargaining representatives, and have offered –

Year 1: 1.75% plus a one-off payment of $1000 for Bands 1-3 and $500 for Band 4
Year 2: 2% or the rate cap, whichever is higher
Year 3: 2% or the rate cap, whichever is higher

The cost of everything is going up – fuel, groceries, electricity, rent, mortgage repayments – and all experts predict this situation will become worse before it gets better, and yet Surf Coast Management have offered what amounts to a significant pay cut in real terms.

If you are unable to attend any meetings, you are welcome to contact Clay O’Brien directly, or complete our short online survey: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/JVMRL9H

It is a fact workplaces with higher rates of union membership receive better outcomes for their pay and conditions. The best way to win a fair and decent pay rise is to have a strong ASU presence in your workplace. We encourage all Surf Coast employees to join the union today.
