Last week the ASU had Powercor & Citipower in the Fair Work Commission because they hadn’t given ASU members a fair go when they asked to progress to the next pay point.
Our specialist in-house legal team was there arguing the case for ASU members employed as Works Delivery Coordinators at Powercor & Citipower and are responsible for coordinating maintenance and construction work undertaken across the power network.
With advice and support from our experienced industrial staff, these determined ASU members have been fighting this dispute since 2019.
The dispute came about when, following outstanding performance reviews, they requested to progress to the next pay point.
Powercor & CitiPower told them they couldn’t progress because they didn’t have a qualification. This was the first time they’d heard about the need for this qualification to progress or that the work they did was any different to their colleagues!
The ASU will always stand with members on matters of equality and fairness!
