Acting ASU Tasmanian Coordinator Aaron De La Torre and ASU Delegate Martin Mizzi met with St John Ambulance Tasmania’s CEO, Ross Byrne, on Thursday 10 January 2019 to discuss renegotiation of the soon to expire Trainers Agreement. Representatives from HACSU were also present. We went to this meeting hoping to secure a commitment to begin renegotiation rather than allowing the EA to expire.
The ASU is pleased that Ross has agreed to bargain for a new EA and the preliminary discussions we had during our meeting around potential claim items seem to have gone over reasonably well.
We will be looking to finalise our log of claims in the coming few weeks as we have our first bargaining meeting scheduled for 10:00 am on Tuesday, 26 February 2019.
If you are a Trainer (whether you are full time, part time or casual) and you are not yet involved in our EA negotiations Facebook group please head over to https://www.facebook.com/groups/stjohntas/ and request to join so that you can be kept up to date and can have your say as we move through negotiations.
Also, Trainers are invited to complete our EA Log of Claims survey prior to us finalising our claims. Feel free to head over to https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/StJohnTrainers to get your feedback in as soon as possible.
