Following our members meeting last week, the ASU contacted South East Water Management to relay your concerns about the proposal and the process.
We expressed serious concerns about the rushed timelines for consultation, the spill and fill process and the lack of detail about key aspects of the proposal.
Management has agreed to extend the consultation process until November 10 and has also agreed to meet with ASU representatives on Monday to see if we can resolve those concerns.
Whilst we don’t know where this will end up, it is important to acknowledge that none of this would have been possible without the activism and lobbying by ASU members and delegates at South East Water.
We will keep members updated about the outcomes of the meeting, and will continue to push for a fairer, more transparent process.
