ASU Serco members recently voted to take Protected Industrial Action following a breakdown in Enterprise Agreement negotiations.
All members will shortly begin receiving Protected Action Ballot voting forms from the Australian Electoral Commission.
It is crucial that that all members vote YES in in favour of the Ballot so that you can take Industrial Action.
The Fair Work Commission requires that a majority of members return the ballots with a YES vote for any industrial action to be lawful.
If the required number of ballots are not returned with a YES vote, then Serco members cannot take industrial.
IMPORTANT
The ballot will contain a list of prescribed industrial actions.
You will NOT have to engage in all the activities listed. No member will be asked to take an action that they are uncomfortable with.
But is critical that these activities are listed on the ballot.
Although the ballot is open until May 24, It is of the utmost importance that you complete and return the ballot immediately upon receipt.
If you don’t receive your ballot by Friday, April 28, please contact your ASU Organiser Jay Madsen 0n 0427 690 431.
Equally, if you have any questions or concerns on the ballot or the process, please contact either Jay Madsen or your workplace delegates Ben Williams and Tim Nicholson.
By encouraging your workmates to join the ASU we will have a stronger voice for workers at Serco.. It is easy for anyone who is not yet a member to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
