The ASU hopes you are staying as safe as possible in this tough phase of the pandemic, with a sharp rise in case numbers and the likelihood that every Tasmanian now knows at least a few people with COVID.

The ASU has sent letters to all local government employers across the state seeking additional measures to be put in place to protect workers’ safety. These asks have been put together after consultation with your reps on the ASU Branch Executive and range from consultation re COVID Safe Plan updates, better ventilation, strict isolation guidelines, N92/P2 masks and more. A copy of that letter can be found here.

Workplace Health & Safety Reps have also been sent advice by the ASU, to help them perform the critical roles they play. This includes advice on the duty of employers to consult, resolution of health and safety issues, direction to cease work and how to seek the assistance of any person, including your union. You can read the advice to Workplace Health and Safety Reps here.

If you need any advice or assistance about safety during COVID please talk to a Delegate, Organiser or contact the ASU Member Contact Centre at info@asuvictas.com.au | 1300 855 570
