Last night you got involved in a campaign aimed at fighting the Morrison Government cuts and to save the historic equal pay win that ASU members fought so hard for. We have doubled the number of members who have attended the campaign committee in just 3 meetings.
Congratulations on being part of the fight to save equal pay.
As we discussed last night, we have only got a very short time to make members and non-members aware of the disastrous impacts of these cuts and to get them active to fight back.
To do this we discussed the following actions that members can take:
- Organise a meeting at your workplace with your colleagues to talk about the Morrison cuts
- Ask your employer to sign the pledge to support the Save Equal Pay campaign. These will be sent to employers over the next few days.
- Take every opportunity you can to discuss the Morrison cuts with your colleagues and encourage them to join the ASU. They can visit asuvictas.com.au
The next ASU community sector campaign meeting will be held at:
DATE: Wednesday 4 March
VENUE: ASU Office, 116 Queensberry St, Carlton
We’d love to see you at this meeting and please try to bring along a fellow member or two. Please RSVP below.
If you’d like to organise a workplace meeting to discuss the campaign aims please contact your organiser or the ASU at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 1300 855 570.
You can also encourage those colleagues yet to join the ASU to do so at www.asuvictas.com.au
