Yesterday, Sacred Heart Mission notified the ASU that they have commenced consultation with staff regarding the reduction of hours and changes to the client-facing staff allocation process.

SHM has advised that some of the tasks staff are employed to do, are temporarily not required during the COVID-19 crisis, and that the proposed changes are for an initial 8 week period, are will then be reviewed. These changes will affect:

  1. Staff who perform roles which are temporarily not required, who will be asked to reduce their hours, take Annual Leave or Long Service Leave to “top up” their income and
  2. Staff who perform client-facing roles, who will be redeployed to the Essential Client Services Talent Pool to be deployed as required to maintain essential services.

The ASU will be contacting ASU workplace delegates and your employer about this issue.
