The annual Unions Tasmania Anna Stewart Memorial Project and Women’s Conference will be held at the end of July.

The Anna Stewart Memorial Project is a week long training course aimed at increasing women delegate’s participation in their unions. Participants learn about how unions work and get training in a supportive environment on key aspects of union organising and growth with a focus on women’s involvement and why unions are so critical for women.  The training includes: organising and campaigning, industrial law and how it operates, politics 101, building union activity through recruitment and leadership development.  It also includes a women in politics panel, visit to the industrial commission and culminates with the Unions Tas Women’s Conference on the Friday.

The Women’s Conference is a jam packed day full of inspirational women speakers, campaigning and workshops.

Spaces are filling fast – if you are interested in participating in either of these training opportunities, please contact your local ASU Organiser to express your interest.
