Yesterday the Premier announced further restrictions for some areas. From 11:59pm tonight Stage 3 restrictions will be re-imposed for “hot zones” which comprise of the following postcodes: 3038, 3064, 3047, 3060, 3012, 3032, 3055, 3042, 3021, 3046. Further information is available here https://www.premier.vic.gov.au/statement-from-the-premier-47/
What does that mean for you?
For many of you, nothing should change. If you can work from home, you should continue to work from home. If you are unable to work from home you can continue to go to work even if you live or work in one of the hot zones.
We are still waiting for the details but it is likely that libraries, swimming pools, gyms, theatres, museums and some other community facilities will again be closed to the public.

During the initial shutdowns, many Councils did not comply with their consultation obligations under the enterprise agreement. The ASU was able to prevent stand-downs or get redeployment for thousands of our members.
As the third tier of government Councils have a moral obligation to look after their communities which includes their staff. It makes no sense at all for you to be sitting at home without pay when you could be out helping your community and getting paid.
Please let us know immediately if you are asked to go home without pay, cut your working hours or make any other changes that impact you adversely. Contact your ASU Delegate or the ASU Member Contact Centre on 1300 855 570 or email@example.com
