For those unable to access our mass members meeting for Community Carers on Monday 29 March, or the follow up one the next Wednesday, a recording of the meeting is now available here.

We had some great engagement, ideas, and contributions from members to shape the campaign and Fight for Aged Care! We will be having another mass members meeting in mid-June after the Commonwealth government responds to the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality & Standards recommendations on May 31 2020.

As mentioned in these mass member meetings we will be following up with target council sites over the next month and with all other delegates at our network meetings about our broader campaigning. We will also be following up with members working in federal coalition seats for the purposes of lobbying in the lead up to May 31.

Yarra Ranges Petition
Now is your last chance to sign and share the petition to Save Yarra Ranges Community Care. Yarra Ranges Councilors are meeting to make a decision on April 27 and we need as many signatures as we can before then!

New PPE advice
The following recommendations from the Victorian Department of Health currently apply to home care service providers:

  • It is recommended that staff, contractors and volunteers wear a surgical mask when physical distancing of at least 1.5 metres cannot be maintained.
  • It is also recommended that clients also wear a face mask in these environments.
