Flexible Hours while Working from Home
The ASU has been made aware that Quantum Support Services are denying requests to work flexible hours while the working from home arrangements are in place during the COVID 19 Pandemic.
Under clause 16.3.4 Spread of Hours in the Quantum Support Services enterprise agreement, you are entitled to request Flexible Hours.
The clause states:
Employees are considered to be responsible professionals and therefore able to organise their time flexibly to balance their personal needs, occupational wellbeing and the operational needs of the organisation. The purpose of these flexible hours is to enable staff to tailor their work around personal commitments and to work extra hours to take a day off. However, priority will be given to the operational requirements of the organisation and the need for continuity of service. Therefore, limitations will exist for staff who are restricted to working hours that is relevant to the requirements of their position. Staff are thereby to negotiate their hours (including outside office hours) with their line manager and team members.
If you believe that your working from home request has been unreasonably refused please speak with your ASU delegate or the ASU member contact centre at email@example.com
This is a very stressful time for all Victorians and the ASU would expect that QSS act reasonably to assist staff to balance their family commitments with the vital work that you all do while many of you are working from home.
ASU is committed to protecting, promoting and improving the working conditions and entitlements of members. Your hard-working delegates need your help.
Quantum Support Services is about to enter into enterprise bargaining with the ASU and staff.
Ideally, there would be at least one and preferably two ASU delegates at each Quantum worksite so that members can be well represented during the bargaining process. It would be great if you would think about nominating yourself as an ASU delegate.
For more information about what is involved please contact your one of your delegates listed below or ASU Organiser Karrie Bowe.
