The Victorian Government have released updated information relating to the Covid-19 pandemic for public sector employees. The ASU doesn’t necessarily agree with all of the advice contained in the guidance material but it’s important that you are aware of the general advice the state government are providing to the public sector.
As you will be aware, on the advice of the Victorian Chief Health Officer, Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions have been reintroduced across metropolitan Melbourne and Mitchell Shire, from 11.59 on 8 July 2020.
The guidance notes can be found here https://www.vic.gov.au/vpsinternal/coronavirus-disease-covid-19-guidance-note-victorian-public-sector
The link above includes advice about, payment during absence from work due to a COVID-19 risk – ongoing and fixed-term employees, where the employee is a carer for an affected family/household member, where the employee is required to self-quarantine (self-isolate) & where the employee is in a higher risk category.
It’s important to remember that the COVID-19 pandemic is a rapidly changing situation and the guidance material is likely to change again. The ASU will continue to send out guidance material as it changes.
