On 1 July 2019 the Portable Long Service Leave (PLSL) Scheme commenced, unfortunately, late changes to the Regulations have introduced some unforeseen issues making it unclear if Community Health Centres (CHC) has been scoped in or not.

The ASU’s position is that CHCs should be included in the scope of the PLSL Scheme and we are working with PLSL Authority and other key stakeholders to assess the issues created by the new Regulations and to find a solution.

ASU members in Community Health Centres have fought for over 25 years to make PLSL a reality and we will continue fighting to ensure that it is delivered to our CHC members in the community sector.

We will be in touch again  shortly once we have a more comprehensive understanding of the position of the Authority about the eligibility of CHC members for the PLSL scheme and will work with members on a plan to resolve any outstanding issues.

In the meantime if you have any questions, please contact your local Delegate or
