It is time to celebrate the work of ASU Delegates and members in delivering good pay outcomes for all employees at Moreland City Council.

From the first full pay period on or after July 1 2020, employees will get a 2% or $26 a week increase.

Congratulations Moreland union members.

Unionised workforces receive higher wage outcomes and entitlements than those that are not unionised.

ASU Delegates and members have advocated and achieved better conditions and entitlements for all Moreland Local Government employees including a good pay increase.

More members lead to more effective negotiations and improved outcomes for everyone. Union members hear an alternative perspective to their employer’s views and gain a broader industry perspective on their wages and conditions. Ultimately it takes a union majority in the workplace to vote no to an agreement and prevent erosion of conditions.

ASU Officials and Delegates continue to meet management regularly getting updates regarding the COVID-19 pandemic and the transition to return to work of what will be the new normal, also making sure you are consulted on any proposed changes through your HSRs and ASU Delegates.
