From an underfunded aged care system, a massive rise in insecure work, through to more and more contracting out of Council run local services, wherever you look, there is a crisis on the frontline.

We need Government to invest in Councils capacity to provide the services people rely on.

The ASU’s Crisis on the Frontline Campaign is addressing these issues in Local Government and we need your help!

Did you know around 20% of all local government employees are now casual?

The growth of insecure work is no accident. Employers have discovered many ways to move workers from secure to insecure forms of employment. These strategies include using labour-hire/agency companies to create triangular employment relationships avoiding any employment accountability and transparency, using casuals and multiple fixed short-term contracts to avoid workers acquiring benefits that are only applicable to those in full-time permanent positions and the list goes on.

This is only going to get worse –unless we act NOW! Come along to a mass member meeting to hear more!

This is a paid member meeting approved by Council. Vision Super will also provide up to date Superannuation information.
