The results are in from our survey regarding the NHVR On-Roads Enterprise Agreement, and members voted unanimously to extend and vary the Agreement.
The ASU has contacted management to advise that we want to go with the extend & vary proposal, but there needs to be more money on the table. We have proposed a 3.5% pay rise and a $2000 sign-on bonus. We are awaiting a formal response from Management, and advice on next steps.
Extending and varying the Agreement means that we do not enter formal bargaining, but there is still an opportunity to update any matters that require urgent attention. Members have proposed changes to the parental leave clause, and a new accident make up pay clause. If you have any other proposals, please send them through to email@example.com
Telematics & Duty Driving
ASU representatives recently met with NHVR management to discuss the ongoing issues with telematics and duty driving. Management committed to fixing the problem of cameras running when vehicles are not in use. They denied that the data is being used for punitive purposes, and have committed to getting more detailed information to staff regarding how the technology works.
On duty driving, Management has said that the changes are about safety, and they accept that there will be a corresponding decline in the number of intercepts as a result. This needs to be communicated to all staff and managers so that there are no adverse consequences for staff.
ASU representatives are still not satisfied with NHVR’s position on these matters and will continue to discuss these matters with management in the new year.
