ASU Delegate Nominations at NHVR
On 20 January 2020, ASU members Skye Rieniets and Scott Knowles formally nominated to become ASU delegates at NHVR.
If members would like to provide any objections or support for these nominations please contact Matt Price by close of business 31 January 2020. If there is a majority of support for the nominations, Skye & Scott will be elected as ASU Delegates.
What do delegates do?
ASU Delegates are the essential link between the ASU and the membership within each workplace. Effective delegates can identify issues and provide information to the ASU to ensure that members’ rights and conditions are protected.
Delegates can provide representation, support and advice to members as well as building the union through providing information and raising the awareness of union issues with staff. An ASU Delegate is someone who is your representative and is nominated and elected by you.
Body Worn Cameras
The ASU has been advised that NHVR are implementing Body Worn Cameras.
We have raised concerns with management that there was no formal consultation with the union as required in EA8, and insufficient consultation with Health and Safety Representatives at your workplace as required by the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004.
We are in ongoing correspondence with management about this and hope to have the matter resolved shortly. We are simply seeking that staff are treated with the respect they deserve and are properly consulted about this important matter.
Want to get the best outcomes? Encourage your workmates to join the ASU.
It is easy for anyone who is not yet a to join online at www.asu.asn.au/asujoin
