All Municipal Building Surveying Services workers are invited to a meeting to discuss common issues across the sector and plan our collective approach to improve our working lives.
DATE: Wednesday 20 April
TIME: 4pm – 6pm
ZOOM LINK: https://us06web.zoom.us/j/83830634361?pwd=bzRqTGFUanROcVRteHI5Zm5Oc0h3QT09
This meeting is not just for ASU members, and we encourage you to invite any colleagues who are not yet members of the union to attend.
A group of ASU members within Municipal Building Surveying Services recently met to discuss the alarming state of affairs:
- Chronic under-resourcing and unsustainable workloads
- Increased responsibilities, complexity and risk
- Councils unable to keep up and comply with their statutory requirements and timeframes
All of this amounts to an unbearable working environment, and many staff are suffering mental injuries and/or leaving the sector because it has all become too much.
ASU members have decided that we can no longer tolerate this situation. We are going to do something about it.
As we discuss and plan our approach, it is critical that we also build our strengths. All Municipal Building Surveying Services staff are welcome to attend our meeting on 20 April, and we encourage anybody who is not yet a member of the ASU to consider joining the union today.
