Changes to Fleet

The ASU was notified of MPSC intention to alter the Fleet Policy.  The policy has been approved and as a consequence has resulted in the following changes;

  1. GPS being turned on vehicles
  2. Ceasing allocation of private and commuter use vehicles
  3. Introduction of new categories of vehicle use

In order to address some of these issues and establish safety nets for members we have written to Council requesting a GPS clause be inserted within the policy which details, how and when the data can be utilised and ensuring that it wont be used for disciplinary purposes.

We have echoed members concerns regarding the consultation process which was undertaken and the lack of adequate compensation for members who have experienced a loss of vehicle.

If you have been impacted by this change, please contact the ASU office on

We will provide you with an update once a response has been received.
